AMELIA got baptized this summer,

and is on track to follow in her siblings steps,

taking a keen interest in the arts & dance.

We are excited for her year ahead,

oh to be 11 years old again!

ANNA (of course) continues to lead the SOHI teams, and is picking up a number of new skills on the side.  (Marketing, Cross-Cultural Missions, Financing). Anna & Phil are scheduling a return to East Africa (Uganda) in February, (Lord Willing). Strategically, our foreign mission is set up to equip our  indigenous staff to do the work of the ministry, this aligns with one of our core principles & prayers for them to become self-sustaining. Our hope is to visit them in person to encourage, update, visioneer once or twice a year. Thank you for your ongoing Prayer & Support !

PHIL is anticipating an extended transition in 2024 not sure yet of the details, but greatful for a successful 2023. Vantage Point has been an awesome platform for Strategizing | Consulting | Launching Businesses etc... However, we can't shake our Missional Mindset ...so with sober-confidence we press into the New Year with eager anticipation that God will Walk us through his best for us, as we surrender our all for His Glory.

Anna & Phil have been investing time & resources into other likeminded  Missional Business Ventures. Some of which are individuals with a similar passion, while others are actual Businesses that are further along in their venture.  Meanwhile we are absorbing conferences, training sessions, and deep dive research with others who have gone on before us, or who are interested in our endevour.

BaM | Business as Mission 

means different things to different folk.

One is no more correct than the other, 

but sometimes they may mean one, some, or all the below...

(with unique variences)

BaM is a Missional MINDSET

...as we are going about our buisness, no matter what career field we are cultivating, we are all to be missionally minded, makeing disciples as we are going... aka. to be approachable, winsome, and influential for the kingdom of Christ.

BaM is a Missional MARKET

...strategically & purposefully structureing a business or market for the purpose of ministry. The business itself operates as the ministry and mission... aka. an Overt Approach to ministry is through the venue of a missional buisness/market. This could be For-Profit or Non-Profit, whichever way, The Mission is Accomplished through the Business.

BaM is a Missional MEANS 

...either by way of a segway, a foot in the door/community/country business is used as a front so that the mission can be perpetuated on location aka. this is more often a Covert Approach to minstry, a "so that" ministry can... In some communities an on Site Store Front, a Kisosk, or Local Address will allow a mission to operate/function after it has contributed locally.

BaM is a Missional MULTIPLIER

...often taking shape through complex strategies, with a heart for indiginous ownership. The goal of these businesses are to exponentially multiply/generate wealth  within a community - with the trajection of it being self-sustaining, and leveraging the local indiginous people for maximum impact on the culture. Various manifestations of training schools, agricultural development, business grants 

aka. to stimulate a local or foreign buisness for missional purposes.

BaM is a MINDSET, MARKET, MEANS, MULTIPLIER,

It may have one, some, or all the above. It will likly function as a unique microcosm, a little different than others, but more often than not  sharing some similar core values, core mission, core dreams.

"RISING" Film Released 11/17 Historic Holmes Theatre

Anika Collaborated on on this Film during Covid.  This is a sampling of the Vantage Point Network. Our Daughter Anika (Modernani.com) has a business & missional mindset.  Although this Film is a bit more abstract than usual, and Anika has been more behind the scenes than in front of it ~ she has used her unique skill set to reach the world of Art, Dance, Media (Film & Photo).  It is a Business & Mission Field that is rarely intermingled but Anika does it with a such grace.

RISING follows a young woman’s journey from isolation in the woods into exploring a mysterious place where she battles obstacles and finds self-empowerment. On occasion our Business as Mission allows us 

to THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX.

Ema (the young man in the video), 

had been serving alongside our SoHi Mission, & expressed interest in baking, 

not thinking anyone would take him serious.  But Anna's generous heart turned to Ema & challenged him - that if he stuck with the course work, She would pay his tuition.  Months Late, while doing a Field Visit in Country,

Ema Surprised Anna & I with a Cake he had baked just for us.

...Now of course there is always more to the story.

Ema ended up getting himself into trouble, 

and we don't know the latest chapters of his story?

But we are trusting that our "cup of cold water",

"the cloak off our back", or whatever & whomever we serve,

the greatest or the least of these - we do it as unto Christ!

What a gift that day to share in the journey of Ema.

We have been praying about our multi-site SOHI space 

The offices in Kampala Have some Outdoor Spaces (front & back) 

that we have been dreaming about their potential.

and the ladies celebrated our shelter/canopy (pictured above right)

 We loved the previous open-air gatherings in the BACK,

but inclement weather & neighboring tree issues, limited the utility of the space.

(In addition it is already being used for prayer (church) servies on Saturdays!)

THIS IS A GAME CHANGER

        We can now host additional events, gatherings, and bring to life
