VP Survey | Roof Inspection

VP Inspection (Archive)
~ Standing in proxy to the brand-new install,
the compromised shingles remained undetected (even to the touch),
However, working in real time with Drone Tech
we were able to decisively locate each batch of compromised shingles
across the entire HOA complex.

Combination of Drone Tech and On-Site Inspection
We discovered a batch of shingles that were compromised.
This would be "small-potatoes" if it were just a single residence.
But this became a "BIG Potato" problem when the batch of shingles
was intermixed throughout the entire HOA complex of Homes.

The complexity of this particular project (adding insult to injury),
is that the Hail Damage which set off the project in the first place,
was insufficient for an insurance claim to begin with.
So this was an out-of-pocket HOA project,
making a Secondary insurance claim on the installed shingles,
a messy pursuit.  Neither the homeowners nor the shingle manufacturer,
wish to tear off and do it all over again on 20+ units.
The Homeowners did not want to be inconvenienced again, and frankly
the Shingle manufactures were not convinced the shingles were compromised.

You be the judge.  Should we have replaced these shingles?

I've only seen this happen at one other project over the years.
And it is normally ONLY discovered under the right conditions,
with the sun reflecting on the shingle coating at just the right angle.

Same HOA work in progress VP 360 Inspection at work.
Statutes require that proof be taken of "ICE & WATER"
Install (as well as any roof rot) must be documented on every eve,
and every valley of every build in Minnesota.
Drone Tech allows real-time capture of such documentation
to be submitted for permit compliance.
This is particularly helpful with HOA, Single Residence, or Commercial
Properties that are 3 or more stories High.
where Photo shots from the ground are nearly impossible.
